'Titter Ye Not'

07 Oct 2017

PDH presents 'Titter Ye Not' - the acclaimed play that exposes the life and times of Frankie Howard - The tour de force that was forced to tour!

This one man play, written by and starring Paul Harris, tells of the life both on and off stage of comedian Frankie Howerd, a troubled but amazingly talented man who wowed audiences for almost fifty years. In the 1950’s he was the biggest comedy star in the country only to lose everything including his health before coming back to prominence and finding a new young audience in the 1980’s.

From earning thousands of pounds a week he suddenly found that he had no work and just ten pounds a week to live on. Battling his nerves and depression he eventually fought his way back to stardom on television and London’s west end before his death in 1992.

‘TITTER YE NOT’ delves into the personal and professional life of this amazing comedy icon and is at times both hilarious and touchingly sad as we explore the life and loves of a comedy legend.

‘TITTER YE NOT’ is a lovingly crafted piece that will amuse and amaze all fans of Frankie Howerd’s life and career.

The play was first produced in 1999 seven years after Howerd’s death, this tribute is to celebrate the centenary, in 2017, of the great mans birth.Tickets £14.00 (£13.00 Concs)
