culture and entertainment

Regular events, carnivals and festivals are organised across Swale mainly by local organisations and community groups for residents and visitors to enjoy and participate in from the well established Faversham Hop Festival to the second New Day Festival at Mount Ephraim in August.

A variety of shows and entertainment can be enjoyed in Swale at some very interesting venues. From Bluetown Heritage Centre which hosts the Criterion Music Hall and Sheppey Little Theatre in Sheerness to the Arden Theatre in Faversham and The Avenue Theatre in Sittingbourne.

You can also see a film at The Royal Cinema in Faversham or the New Century Cinema in Sittingbourne and on specific days in some of the theatre venues.

Some public houses and other venues host music and entertainment nights such as The Old Brewery Store in Faversham, Merlins Entertainment Complex in Leysdown and Sittingbourne Greyhound Stadium

Night life can be found across the area in clubs such as Layzells Club in Minster for the young at heart to quiet pubs such as The Plough Inn at Stalisfield or The Three Tuns at Lower Halstow for those who want a relaxing evening drink in the countryside.
