Plan your staycation and enjoy Swale's attractions.

As well as the idyllic rural landscapes that are naturally a part of the Swale area, the bustling towns of Faversham, Sheppey and Sittingbourne also feature a number of nationally famous attractions and give the Borough its unique character and charm.

Take a tour round the National Fruit Collection at Brogdale Farm; enjoy the magnificent scenery of Elmley National Nature Reserve or the new Milton Creek Country Park, or explore the country house splendour of Belmont House and Gardens.

You may also wish to explore the many heritage and cultural attractions across Swale, such as the Fleur de Lis Heritage Centre in Faversham (which also provides a Visitor Information Service). Follow the Isle of Sheppey’s dramatic story at Blue Town Heritage Centre, Minster Gatehouse Museum or the quirky Rose Street Cottage of Curiosities in Sheerness. As well as learning more about the birth of aviation at Muswell Manor by visiting the volunteer run Aviation Centre in Eastchurch or browsing an array of local medieval artefacts at the Sittingbourne Heritage Museum.

The Isle of Sheppey’s popular Minster, Sheerness and Leysdown beaches make a fantastic setting for a summer getaway, while Barton's Point Coastal Park provides great facilities for water sports and cycling, with 40 acres devoted to leisure pursuits. More information about sailing and moorings can be found on the 'Martime Swale' page.

A mix of diverse, independent shops and popular high street chains make up the town centres of Swale, giving you the chance to indulge and uncover new finds. With markets in every town, you’ll be spoilt for choice with the local produce and unique bargains on offer, and after all that shopping you’ll be able to relax at one of the delicious and cosy restaurants serving locally sourced food and drink.

A selection of some attractions are highlighted below on the map for location awareness, noting that there are too many venues in the towns to highlight on map and encourage you to view the full listings.
