1697 Pop Up - March

5th March - 10th March 2024

An eclectic mix of unique handmade items will be on sale from 10am - 4pm 5th March - 10th March featuring creatives Terence Tuck-Brown, Siobhan Timoney and Kim Barnicott

1697 has been a hidden gem at the heart of Faversham, but after sadly sitting derelict for many years, the period building has been given a new lease of life. The purpose behind 1697 is to support local people and their small businesses, providing a space for creators and artists to showcase their work in a pop-up style location.

An eclectic mix of unique handmade items will be on sale from 10am - 4pm 5th March - 10th March featuring creatives Terence Tuck-Brown, Siobhan Timoney and Kim Barnicott

Kim Barnicott

Kim has come from a textile design background where her work explored, theme, colour, texture and composition, this methodology has followed Kim in her approach to her all her work.

Over the years Kim found floristry alongside creating her own art and has worked within the commercial and private sector of the floral industry. Today Kim’s focus is more on one off pieces of floral art, where much of the material is foraged, whilst running her own private floral wellness workshops which include collaborations with charities such as Porchlight.

Kim is available for hire to run floral workshops and is always excited to take on new private commissions however large or small.

Siobhán Timoney

Siobhán Timoney is a Faversham based artist/maker, who loves designing & making a variety of work from Hats to jewellery and other art pieces. Siobhán also has a lot of experience delivering a wide range of art workshops for young people and adults over many years. Tailor-made workshops available to support and suit all requirements. Timoney Design is the brand label for her hats Designs. Each hat is unique in some way, either in style or added details from vintage buckles to buttons. This is slow fashion.

Siobhán likes to experiment and so each hat has its own character. Inspiration comes from Sculptural form and nature.
Good quality materials are important: mostly 100% hand woven woollen tweeds are used, sourced from Ireland & the U.K small batch fabric is preferred and there is no waste. (Irish, Yorkshire, Scottish & Cotswolds tweeds are a favourite). All hats are fully lined with coloured linings to suit the individual hat.

Commissions welcome.
All hats are one-off designs, so you won't meet yourself walking down the street.
Timoney Design is the brand name for these designs and can be followed on Instagram and Facebook.

Terence Tuck-Brown

Terence has been making and sewing most of his life. Over the last few years, he’s been designing and making bags from unwanted leather sofas. Which he explains, is a great way to repurpose parts of the furniture, meaning less goes
into landfill, giving the leather a new lease of life!
