Outdoor Aviary at Faversham Recreation Ground

A drop in, creative family event led by artist educators Martin Brockman and Amanda Thesiger from the Outdoor Studios team.

Inspired by the native UK bird population and species found in and around Kent, participants will enjoy two activities: collaborative collaging, frottaging, and drawing with natural inks made from items found in the park, creating a range of unique birds; and making bird sculptures using withy and willow sticks and branches.

Once completed, the birds will find homes in the trees and bushes within the park, remaining in situ for future visitors to spot and enjoy, eventually being reclaimed by nature.

This is a family workshop recommended for children aged five and above. Parents or carers are required to remain present and will be responsible for their children's wellbeing and behaviour throughout the event.
