Sheerness on Sea, home of a former Royal Naval Dockyard (1669 - 1960) and now busy commercial port boasts significant maritime history and seaside heritage. As a traditional seaside and market town , just look a bit closer and you'll find a wide range of shops, with a good mix of independents sitting alongside national chains.

Look out for the water sports and the annual Round the Island Yacht Race from the Isle of Sheppey Sailing Club on Marine Parade.
