Background to Angling...
Angling or Fishing is a very popular attraction within the Borough of Swale, with the presence of many fishing lakes where you can catch bass, garfish, eels, skate, plaice, dogfish, cod, flounders and much more.
It will be worth checking with the clubs and organisation if you need permits or they have any open sessions but there are fantastic lakes in Sittingbourne, Faversham and Sheppey as well as the opportunity for sea fishing from the Isle of Sheppey.
All activities offered by clubs overseen by a National Governing Body will be required to adhere to new procedures to protect participants. The Angling Trust is working with Sport England to support providers to get back to activities.
Opportunities in Swale...
There are a number of clubs and organisations providing opportunities in Swale -
- Faversham Angling Club
- Kemsley Angling Society
- Sheerness Sea Angling Club
- Sittingbourne Angling Club
We haven't carried out checks on the clubs and organisations that are listed but as a participant you should check that -
? - the instructors or coaches have activity related experience and or qualifications
? - you are happy with the safety and quality of its activities
? - you know when and where the session is and the facility is accessable and safe
? - the level of the activity is suitable to you and your experience
Don't wait until the start of your first session to ask questions as the coach or instructor will be focused on delivery of the activity; but do ask prior to the activity and all should be happy to answer your questions.
