Come and Experience International and National Golf Events In Kent

Well aren’t we blessed in Kent to have two major golfing events taking place over the next few months, with the 149th Open at Royal St Georges in Sandwich and the 2021 English Open at the London Golf Club.

Golf is a sport that is enjoyed by both amateurs, who’s love of the sport keeps them coming back for more and in search of that perfect shot; and professionals who are able to play at the highest level and make a living from the sport. The two events being held in Kent are for the later and the County will be welcoming players from across the world, and with lockdown restrictions easing they are hoping to welcome spectators. Do check the event websites for more details regarding spectators being permitted.

The 149th Open is one of the Major Golfing tournaments in the annual calendar that attracts the top golfers from around the world to compete over 4 days between the 15th and 18th July 2021. The recent announcement from the organisers is that 32,000 spectators are now allowed in each day.

This event moves around the more challenging courses in the UK and The Royal St Georges Golf course previously held the event back in 2011.

The 149th Open at Royal St George's

As part of the European Tour the London Club will host the 2021 English Open for the first time since 2014 between 12th – 15th August 2021 with four rounds of golf to determine the winner with the lowest score.

It will be hosted on the Jack Nicklaus-designed Heritage Course at London Golf Club and will be the fourth and final event of the 2021 UK Swing competition taking in events from Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland and England.
