Go Christmas Market Shopping in Swale

Markets operate in our three towns of Faversham, Sheerness on Sea and Sittingbourne with proud traders and artisans bringing that special gift and local produce for residents and visitors to select from this Christmas.

Faversham Markets

Featured in the Domesday book, Faversham has one of the oldest markets in Kent. Its historical marketplace setting and picturesque town centre make Faversham the perfect place for friendly, local and authentic Christmas markets.

The three special Sunday Christmas Markets are taking place in Faversham on the 8th, 15th and 22nd December, with over 50 local traders. In addition to delicious local street food and drink, stalls will be selling hand-crafted and artisan items including jewellery, ceramics, plants, gourmet foods, soft furnishings, prints and much more.

There will be fun festive activities for all the family including a Christmas town centre trail with prizes, magic shows, pet-a-duck, face painting and the chance to cuddle donkeys courtesy of Happy Endings Rescue.

Faversham is full of independent shops and cafes, many of which will open during the Christmas markets and with the Market Place at Brogdale Collections and awarding Macknade Fine Foods and cafe just outside the town there is so much choice.

In addition, the Alexander Centre in Faversham will be hosting a Santa’s Grotto on the 14th and 15th December. On the 7th and 21st December there will also be Best of Faversham Markets selling local arts, crafts and food. Making these dates great double-market weekends in Faversham.

Faversham is easily reached by both car and public transport, also there are plenty of accommodation options for anyone wishing to visit for a weekend.

Creek Creative's Christmas Emporium open up until 21st December and the Artisan Christmas Gift Fair at the Alexander Centre on December 8th, and the hidden shopping gem which is Standard Quay also provide that unique and special gift choice.

Visit Faversham has also produced a great blog 'Christmas Shopping in Faversham' which is a good read providing more inspiration to shop local this festive season.

There will be a special Sittingbourne Christmas Artisan Market on Saturday 14th December with the High Street packed with a range of stalls and local artisan goods and produce to select from.

Following your visit to the market stay in the High Street and support many of the small local independent traders that make up the town centre offer or pop in to The Forum Shopping Centre on a Santa Saturday.

In Sittingbourne the retail parks on Mill Way with the larger stores and recent additions and adjacent fast food offer provide the opportunity for additional purchases and choice.
