Following the success of Open Faversham in 2023, it will be bigger and better in 2024. The Friends of St Mary of Charity and The Faversham Society are just beginning to hear from local people and organisations planning events for Open Faversham this year, now firmly established as an annual opportunity to celebrate our town’s cultural and natural heritage. Open Faversham takes place in August to share our heritage with friends, family, and visitors. Last year there were many activities for young people of primary school age and younger. This August, we hope that there will be activities and events for young people and activities on and around the creek.
The deadline for inclusion in the printed brochure which will be delivered to every household in Faversham is 10th June. Brochures and posters will be out by 13th July.

The Friends of St Mary of Charity, the Faversham Society and Faversham Town Council promote the events organised during nine days in August with a letterbox drop to all the homes in the parish and parish councils in the villages, Visit Swale & Visit Kent. If you have ideas or plan to organise an event or two, please contact us
This year, we are planning to encourage surrounding villages to become part of Open Faversham. Open Faversham will umbrella the community talks, walks, performances and other events taking place during the nine days. Those organising events as part of Open Faversham will be responsible for their own finances and insurance – the organisers of each event will be clearly identified in the programme. We will provide a ticketing facility to avoid too many too many people turning up and having to be turned away.
