Macknade is making the most of the long weekend with a fun charity dog show on the early May Bank Holiday (May 6th), in aid of Happy Endings Rescue - a local charity caring for animals who have been abandoned or neglected.
Attendees can enter their pooches in one of the following categories via the Macknade website:
• Best Costume
• Waggiest Tail
• Junior Handler
• Mirror Image (Dog that looks most like its owner!)
• Golden Oldie (Dog over 8 years old!)
• Best Trick
Entries are free, with the option to make a donation on the day to Happy Endings Rescue upon registration with the team.
There will be special prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each category, including a free consult with Macknade’s on-site veterinary practice - Swale Barn Vets - who will also be offering free doggy dental check-ups throughout the day! Spectators are also very welcome (and encouraged!) to come along and cheer on their favourite dogs, whilst enjoying everything else the Food Village has to offer.
There will also be free kids activities to keep the little ones occupied and a pop-up from Simply Ice Cream, offering all-natural doggy ice creams.

Happy Endings Rescue is an animal charity located in a peaceful rural setting near Faversham, Kent, who offer a safe haven for animals that pass into our care as a result of abandonment, neglect, owner surrender or abuse.
Happy Endings rescue and rehome domestic pets as well as providing a long-term home to the many animals and birds that live on site, including parrots, owls, farm animals, horses, goats, peacocks, meerkats and other species.
