Here at Green Cottages Kitchen we are passionate about food and baking. We passionately believe that home grown and local food is best. Real food for real people. We have 2 self catering cottages overlooking the village green that can be booked (subject to availability) with our workshops.
We live on the beautiful North Kent Downs with far reaching views across the Swale and ancient woodland just an hour's train ride from central London.
All the workshops take place in our own newly renovated spacious kitchen overlooking our lovely English Country garden. The kitchen has the latest oven technology; traditional ovens with combination steam ovens, this give us scope to make a diverse range of baked products.
Monique will lead the courses. She has been baking bread for many years for family, friends, cottage guests and a local hotel. Monique spent many former years working in commercial kitchens around the world from traditional English country pubs, restaurants and hotels, to an authentic Japanese restaurant, an Australian roadhouse and even a traditional souvlaki restaurant in Greece.
This embedded her passion for food and baking, particularly local regional food. She worked in finance in the City of London for 16 years and also spent time living and working in Germany sampling their fabulous breads but after her son was born gave up commuting life and picked up on her passion for baking and cooking.
Our newly renovated kitchen has a large granite central island where all the baking action takes place. We provide all the ingredients and equipment - you just need to turn up and be prepared to bake! We have sampled other courses and brought together all our favourites with some great tips, techniques and recipes to enable you to try them at home.
Numbers are strictly limited to 6 to make sure everyone gets to see and participate in the baking fun.
We provide refreshments and a light lunch during our workshops.
