📚 Faversham Literary Festival 2026 – A Must-Visit Cultural Highlight

20th February - 1st March 2026

Discover the Faversham Literary Festival 2026 – author talks, workshops and family events across historic venues. Book early as tickets are limited.

Location: Various intimate and historic venues across Faversham, Kent – including Guildhall, Alexander Centre, St Mary of Charity Church, Old Brewery Store and more.

The Faversham Literary Festival is one of Kent’s most vibrant cultural events, bringing together bestselling authors, emerging voices, writers, thinkers, poets and performers for 10 days of talks, readings, workshops and family fun.

🌟 Why Visit Faversham for the Literary Festival?

  • Rich and Diverse Programme – From major bestselling author talks (including fiction, history, crime, poetry, science, nature and more) to workshops, spoken word and creative sessions.

  • Something for All Ages – A full schedule of children’s and family events, including interactive drawing sessions, storytelling, young author talks and fun workshops.

  • Unique Settings Around Faversham – Events take place in beautiful historic venues around the town, providing a truly memorable festival atmosphere.

  • Community Spirit & Literary Culture – The festival supports local programmes, encourages schools’ outreach and attracts thousands of visitors each year.

🗓️ What’s on in 2026?

The festival programme includes a wide range of authors and event styles, such as:

  • Author Talks & Conversations – With acclaimed writers like Joanne Harris, Mark Billingham, Ben Aaronovitch, Dame Marina Warner and Natalie Haynes discussing their latest books and ideas.

  • Special Sessions & Live Performances – Including Beans on Toast in a live storytelling/music setting and other engaging cultural sessions.

  • Workshops, Poetry & Spoken Word – Join creative writing workshops and spoken word events for all creative levels.

  • Family & Children’s Programme – Fun, imaginative sessions with top children’s authors and illustrators.

(This is just a snapshot — visit the Festival website for the full list of events and times.)

🎟️ Book Early – Why It Matters

Many festival venues in Faversham are small and atmospheric spaces with limited capacity. Because of this:

  • Tickets often sell out quickly — especially for headline authors and family favourite events.

  • Early booking ensures you get your preferred events and dates.

  • Signing up as a Friend of the Festival provides priority early booking and ticket access before general release.
