Opportunities in Swale...

There are a number of clubs and organisations providing opportunities in Swale -

Remember to contact the club/organisation before you attend to ask any questions you have on their activities.

Background to Athletics...

The history of Athletics is strongly linked to the ancient Greeks with the emergence of the ancient Olympic Games and is a collection of activities based on walking, throwing, running and jumping.

Individuals will generally specialise in an activity and compete against each other but as part of a team, club or country and the modern Olympics and Paralympics being the international showcase events.

Athletics is split into Track and Field events with the 'Track' events taking part on the 400 meter running track; generally the running and walking events. While the 'Field' events are normally on a grass area in the centre of the track; generally the jumping and throwing events.

COVID-19

All activities offered by clubs overseen by a National Governing Body will be required to adhere to new procedures to protect participants. England Athletics is working with Sport England to support providers to get back to activities.
