Find out about Boxing in Swale's three populated areas of Faversham, Sittingbourne and the Isle of Sheppey.
There are a number of clubs and organisations providing opportunities in Swale -
Remember to contact the club/organisation before you attend to ask any questions you have on their activities.
Boxing is an activity that takes part in a 'Ring' that is usually a platform raised off the ground with four corners connected by ropes; only the two participants are allowed within the 'Ring' during the activity or bout. Protective safety equipment is used to lesson the impact of the punches thrown.
As an activity only registered boxers can spar or compete based on their weight to ensure fair bouts, but the training can be done by anyone with numerous boxing related courses availabe in clubs and centres.
There are local, regional, national and international events and competions amateur boxers can take part in with the Olympic and Paralympic Games being the pinicle event. As well as the amateur side of the activity there are professional boxers that can also compete against others within their weight category.
All activities offered by clubs overseen by a National Governing Body will be required to adhere to new procedures to protect participants. England Boxing is working with Sport England to support providers to get back to activities.
If you provide opportunities for residents or visitors to get involved in Boxing and would like your club or organisation to be listed then email Healthy and Active Swale and we can get your details uploaded.
