The mix of urban and rural landscapes provides various options for running whether you like to pound the streets or trek through the countryside, visitors and residents will be able to find a route that will suit them.
If you are looking to get into running and have got a pair of trainers there are plenty of parks and spaces you can go to but there are several clubs and organisations in Swale that provide a mix of sessions for all interests with some well-established annual runs across Swale –
- Beginners2Runners - Faversham
- Beginners2Runners - Sheppey
- Beginners2Runners - Sittingbourne
- Rotary Club of Sittingbourne Invicta
- Rotary Club of Minster-on-Sea
- Sittingbourne Striders
- Sittingbourne Run club
Like most boroughs in the Country we are lucky to have the enthusiasm of local volunteers that are providing events within the global running movement - parkrun UK. The Sittingbourne parkrun has been running since February 2016 in Milton Creek Country Park in Sittingbourne and we will be welcoming The Leas parkrun on the Isle of Sheppey on the 28th September.
If you provide opportunities for residents or visitors to get involved in Running and would like your club or organisation to be listed then email Active Swale and we can get your details uploaded.
